Monkey Bars

This is pretty straight forward. Don’t let go of one thing to you have another in your grasp.

Remember being a kid in the playground, playing on the monkey bars? You always had a grip on a bar or your dropped to the ground. I use this early discovery to great effect in later life.

I’m sure we can all relate to that feeling. The one you get when the phone rings and you have been offered a new job. All that hard work you put in to the interview process has paid off. You have all but mentally checked out from your current job. All you now want to do is get off the phone and tell your boss that you are thankful for your time with the company, but they can stick your job. But you have to wait til the paperwork comes through from the new employer. This can sometimes take a few days. This wait feels like weeks.

Your heart say do it anyway, but your head says ‘Monkey Bars’.

There are many other stories like this. Whether they relate to getting a new apartment and needing to give notice. You need to wait til the new lease is signed before you give notice to your current landlord. Or that someone you have been spending time with but it doesn’t seem to be working out. It is winter and the last thing you want is to be alone. So you hold on for a few more weeks til someone else comes along.

Monkey Bars. Simple concept. Priceless when used correctly.
