Saturns Return
Fit. For Life.

So things have got away from me a bit so far this year. I can’t believe that we are already in to April. The first quarter of 2010 is behind us! And the biggest issue is that I have not been following my own advice. And for the first time in 2 years I have put on weight.

My table legs are out of whack and I am noticing the imbalance.

I remember how hard I worked to lose that weight and it shames me to know that I am undoing all that hard work with frivolous gluttony.

So as a result I am taking the rest of the month off drinking. Whilst it is not as extreme as the 80 of ’08 or the 90 of ’09, it will do me a whole lot of good to get back in to the routine of exercising. And I can squeeze it in before The Harvester’s 30th. The event claimed to be the biggest of the year.

I have also rediscovered tennis. I went for a hit yesterday and it was awesome. So I am going to start playing tennis once a week and running at least 4 times a week. If I can get a start now as the weather gets cooler, hopefully come the ski season I will be in great shape to rip up the gates and by next Spring when the jumpers come off, I will be looking good.

This is a reminder to me that living well is for life. It is not something that I can turn on and off. My Dad battles with his health every day and if I don’t stay focused on living better, I am sure that my 40’s and 50’s are going to be a torrid time.
